Haddy
2000 bay Egyptian Arabian, 15.2 hands
2009 Breeding Fee: $1000
Haddy, as the staff like to call him, came from Morgan as she was getting out of the horse industry. He is a rather exceptional stallion and under contract he is to remain that way despite Jhinnua's own personal feelings about Arabians and wanting to turn him into a gelding. "Promises are promises though." She'll explain. That aside the Far Side is very happy to have such a well rounded horse under their belt. He is fairly well mannered, but like any stud he can have his moments and he definitely has a need to work. This is of course beneficial to the Far Side program.
"My mom may not like him but when I get old enough I'm going to be riding him." Siliona will tell you with a happy smile while petting the excitable stallion as he's tacked up, "I think I'll want to make him into a hunter, if mom lets me. She's into western, but it's not really my thing." Though of course this little dream of Siliona's may not come true (her mom will tell you this), she will at least get the chance to ride the stallion when she turns eighteen.
For now rider Valerie Robertson takes his reins. "Val has always loved horses that can work. Her first horse, Krissy who passed away a few years ago, was a worker and her next keepsake, Cheekie, started off lazy and turned into a really good riding horse. We chose her for Haddy because we knew they'd get along, and they do." Jhin explains, looking over some show records, "They could be a better team but I think it's mostly based on Val's aversion to showing horses."
